Parents sign up to get access to all of SitterFinder.com's tools for helping them find the perfect sitter, including the ability to access references and contact sitters through our messaging system for safety purposes and to prevent spam and otherwise unwanted communication. Once communication is established and you would like to communicate further, such as for an interview, you can send each other more contact information.

A caregiver can order a background check for $9.99 and Identity Verification for $4.99.

If a caregiver you are interested in does not have a Background Check and/or Identity Verification, you can ask the sitter to complete one or both. You can also optionally pay for the Background Check and/or Identity Verification for the caregiver. You credit card will be authorized, but not charged until the caregiver submits the necessary information to process the request.

Identity verification requires passing a quiz about one's financial and non-financial history. More details about background checks are available on the background check order page. The information that can be disclosed to us includes, but is not limited to, information concerning one's criminal history, motor vehicle history, military service, verification of one's name, address and social security number.
